Senior Companionship Services and Activity in the MaritimesPosted May 20, 2015
Is it safe to say that spring has finally arrived in Nova Scotia? These rainy days won’t stop us Maritimers from spending time outdoors!
Now that the weather is heating up its the perfect time to try out those trails you’ve been eager to walk. Shed one of your winter layers and put on your comfortable shoes! Bring a friend to discuss the weather, or say hello to your neighbour. You can even call us up at Always Home Homecare if you need a companion! Always Home Homecare offers senior companionship services to keep the senior in your life active. Spring has sprung and we should make the most of this warming period.
Walking is an easy way to stretch joints and reduce stress. It’s time to smell the trees, and listen to the birds as they welcome Spring. Socializing with the critters, or bringing a friend along for company. Senior companionship services offer just that to your senior loved one – a companion. Don’t let that feeling of loneliness stop your senior from getting out and getting active. Our caregivers can provide the one-on-one conversation and attentiveness your senior loved one enjoys. They will have made a new friend by the end of the trail.
There are many accessible parks and trails in the HRM area (maps available online). (Don’t worry, they have been newly combed following this snowy winter!) We’ve researched a few using the HRM website linked below, and Get Out Check It Out walking trail maps. Wheelchair accessible trails are indicated by blue lines.

Get out and get active! Enjoy the sun ladies and gents!
