There are events everywhere in celebration – most are free and make a great outing for our Halifax and Dartmouth seniors and their families. Friday is scheduled to be a beautiful day and there are many official events from breakfasts to concerts – free for all.
Here are details for some of the events taking place this Canada Day Weekend:

The Commons will be a busy place too with the Family Fun Festival featuring such things from FREE cake to FREE concerts and a FREE yoga class on the baseball diamond at noon. Lots of the old fashioned type of fun, like interactive booths from the Discovery Center, face painting, 2 shows by the K9 Hi Flyers Dog Agility Team, food trucks – and did I mention FREE cake?
Then there’s the parade – everyone loves a parade, especially with the Tattoo performers! It will start at 10:30 am by the Scotiabank Centre on Brunswick and Duke Streets, go down Brunswick Street, turn right onto Spring Garden Road, then right onto Summer Street, right onto Sackville Street and left onto Brunswick Street back to the Scotiabank Centre.
There are lots of things to do folks and something for everyone. Spend a healthy day in the sun and have some fun… did I mention FREE cake?
Happy Canada Day!
